The Workshop in Poland

On July 10, 2024, the Uniters Foundation (Poland) held an efficient Workshop in Warsaw, where the participants, representatives of various NGOs and Polish local governments, could exchange both positive and negative experiences of the interaction of organizations with the authorities.

Everyone agreed that the main problem now is the financing of NGOs, especially providing them with premises for activities, etc.

Jarosław Hirny-Budka, Chairman of the Michalowice Commune Council, explained: “It is very important for local governments to get from NGOs a ready-made idea or solution. Often there is a budget, but no human resources to implement projects.”

Thus the execution of this project is very important because its main goal is to analyze the best practices of NGOs’ partnership with local authorities in such countries as the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia in the context of advocating the issues of Ukrainian forced (war) migrants and provide ideas for future activities, projects and models of cooperation.

The workshop, which lasted almost 5 hours gathered many interesting discussions, exchange of ideas and contributions for the future Policy paper.
